Cottonwood Animal Hospital is committed to providing quality state of the art veterinary medicine with the utmost in integrity and compassion.

Our patients and clients will always be treated as if they are a part
of our own family. We will spare no effort in the service of our clients or the quality in which we care for our patients.

Our doctors and staff are committed to providing the most technologically advanced diagnostic evaluation and patient treatment and we will maintain our quality of standards in our profession through continuing education and programs. Veterinarian's Oath
Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health, the relief of animal suffering, the conservation of livestock resources, the promotion of public health and the advancement of medical knowledge.

I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence.

    Graduated from Kansas State University in 1972. He has practiced in Ottawa since 1973. He enjoys all species, but specializes in large animal medicine.

    Dr. Laura Erwin D.V.M.

    Graduated from Kansas State University in 2002. She returned to Ottawa in 2005 to join the practice. She specializes in small animal and equine medicine.

  • Major Rance P. Erwin at Kandahar, Afghanistan with a member of the K-9 corps.

    Dr. Rance P. Erwin

    Graduated from Kansas State University in 2002. He came to Ottawa with his wife (Dr. Laura Erwin) in 2005. He enjoys small animal medicine and surgery.

    Major Rance P. Erwin completed a tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan providing his services to the K-9 corps.

    Rance returned to Ottawa in August of 08 and is adjusting to civilian practice again.
